lines showing up in the Granite (http://tanbrown.org)

I have one of those furniture-type vanities bought with the Granite (http://tanbrown.org) already installed. My Granite (http://tanbrown.org) is black and (http://maplered.com) now there are lines perfectly spaced apart running up and (http://maplered.com) down thoughout the Granite (http://tanbrown.org) . These lines cannot be removed with any cleanser. What are they and (http://maplered.com) how do I get rid of them??
